Mac Printer Installation Instructions
1. In System Settings search for "Printers & Scanners"
2. Click the "Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax..." button
3. Click the IP tab
4. "Protocol" click the drop down menu, select "Internet Printing Protocol - IPP"
5. Fill in the address (printhostname.eecs.umich.edu). The name and location should appear on the bottom
6. We don't want to use the Generic Driver for these printers, so select the drop down under "Use"
7. Select "Select Software:"
8. Search up the model number in the "Select Software" dialogue box, sometimes the driver will come up. If it does, select it and you're all set! If not, you need to do a little more hunting around
9. Search for the printer driver online and navigate to the manufacturer site
10. You'll get different versions of the driver, you want to select the version that's closest to your OS
11. Download and install the driver, and you're all done!
If these Mac driver installation instructions don't work then try to go to the printer's web interface. You would do this by going to a web browser like Google Chrome and typing printerhostname.eecs.umich.edu
